Why I Make Myself Go to the Gym Every Day

baby push ups5:30am wake up call.  6 days a week.  Roll out of bed.  Splash some water on my face.  Throw on my gym clothes.  Grab my protein bar.  Head out the door.  Walk into the gym.  Quick 100 jumping jacks.  Find a good tune.  Grab a weight.  Start lifting.  Sweat.  Heavy breathing.  Tired.  Treadmill.  Intervals.  HIIT workout.  Give it your all.  End.

This is what I do.  This is how I like to start off my day.  Not because I have to.  Not because I am training for a competition.  But because I am simply a happier, better person when I do.

It’s not always easy to get up every morning to workout.  I have been doing it for almost 4 years.  And even though I have been in my best shape over the last four years, that isn’t what drives me.  What drives me is knowing that I get to spend an hour every day on me.  To better myself mentally, emotionally, and physically.

working out

It really does make a difference on the days I go to the gym vs. the days I don’t go.  I have a better attitude, more energy, a jumpstart on the day…  Even my husband told me one day, “You’re kinda ornery, you should go to the gym and blow off some steam.”  True story.
bench pressEverybody needs time in the day to do something away from their responsibilities at home.  Choose something and do it.  It doesn’t have to be the gym, it can be anything.

I got this encouraging workout tank from Cents of Style and I really love what it says, “Too Legit to Quit”.  When my husband first saw this shirt she started laughing and mocking me for saying that, ‘i’m too legit’.  Haha, take it how you want.  This shirt means more to me than just being “too legit” while working out.  To me, I look at it from a mom’s perspective.  Some days I feel like there are days I can’t make it through.  Some days I feel like I have failed as a mom.  Some days I feel like I just can’t figure it out.  Those are the days I need remember to not quit.  I am legit!

hooded sports bra

I paired this top with the coolest sports bra!  It has a removable hood on it that can come off with a simple zip.  Why do you need a hood on your sports bra? -you might ask.  I’m not quite sure.  But it looks pretty cute paired under your favorite shirt!  Check out all of Cents of Styles’ encouraging workout collection HERE.  Today only (Fashion Friday) you can get any workout item for 50% off + FREE shipping, just use the code ACTIVELOVE.

And if there is one thing to take from my post today it is to remember to take time out to do what makes you happy.  Don’t quit – you’re too legit!

Until next time,

How inspiring! I think moms often forget how important it is so do SOMETHING that is just for you. And you look adorable doing it!

Hey, I'm Kami!

Welcome to the blog

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
