Cute Ghost – From IKEA Ofelia Blanket

I just cannot seem to stay away from the Ofelia Blanket at IKEA.  Remember earlier this year all of the projects I made from one blanket HERE?  For IGNITE we made these fun little ghosts from the blanket and everyone loved them.  I cannot tell you how easy they are too!  🙂

I hung mine in this little shelf in my kitchen.
I also hung one from one of my light fixtures.
You will need:  hot glue gun, fishing line, styrofoam ball (I used 4″), a square piece of the IKEA Ofelia Blanket, 3 thumbtacks (dollar store).

Step-by-step:
1.  Take your fabric piece and stretch it over your styrofoam ball tightly.
2.  Let go of it and naturally the fabric stays in a great ghost shape.
3.  Tie a knot in your fishing line.
4.  Slip the knot over the tack and pull tight.
5.  Place a ball of hot glue on the top of your ghost.
6.  Stick the thumbtack with the fishing line tied to it into the hot glue and let dry.
7.  Stick the other two thumbtacks into hot glue on the front of your ghost for eyes.  Color black circles on them for eye balls.

And that’s it!  These seriously don’t take more than 5 minutes to make!  You can make any size that you want depending on the size of styrofoam ball you use!

Have a hauntingly good time making some for yourself!

Hey, I'm Kami!

Welcome to the blog

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
