Make Kids’ Meals More Fun with Funbites

I don’t know about you, but it’s getting harder and harder for me to think of creative meals to feed my kids.  I mean, usually its PBJ’s, Pancakes, Turkey and Cheese Sandwiches, and yes…chicken nuggets!  Summer is hard because you want to make easy meals, but still nutritious.

I have recently discovered Funbites.  They are cutters with shapes in them, kind of like apple cutters.  They are very easy to use and work on a lot of different foods/textures.  These have been lots of fun the last few weeks because although I am feeding the kids the same things, they are slightly more fun to eat because they are in shapes!  I have the heart-shape cutter.
They loved their Peanut Butter Sandwiches with Bananas (pictured above).

Funbites has a few different cutters that have different shapes in them.  This heart-shaped one is different from the rest because it has different shapes within the heart.  I thought this could be fun for older kids because they can take the different shaped pieces within and try to put it back together, like a puzzle.  Personally, I think that the square one would be the funnest to play around with.

A snack we frequently have in our home are turkey and cheese crackers.  This is a fun way to mix it up:

My girls have homemade pancakes almost every morning.  One day I surprised them by mixing it up a little and having these heart-shaped pancakes!

Now, I am one who absolutely hates when food is wasted!  Obviously you are left with scraps of food when using these cutters.  Be creative and don’t let them go to waste if you dislike wasting food as well.  With the bananas that I used with the peanut butter sandwiches, I mushed them up and added them to a fruit smoothie.  You can also add mushed bananas to their yogurt.

School is drawing near, some of your kids may have already started!  This is a great tool to use on your kids’ lunches that they take to school!  Check out Funbites.com or their Facebook page HERE for more info and ideas!  AND GUESS WHAT?  Funbites is offering Sweet Charli readers a 20% off promo code.  Use SWEETCHARLI at checkout.

Hey, I'm Kami!

Welcome to the blog

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
