The Map – Why this Puerto Rico Map is Meaningful

A few months ago I revealed to you my Sweet Master Makeover.  I included in my decor things that had meaning to my husband and I.

This old pirate-looking map has been rolled up, sitting in a box in storage for 7 years.  I always loved it but never knew what to do with it.  My husband served an LDS Church Mission 10 years ago in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  While he was gone he sent home this map to me.  For two years I had this map taped to the back of my bedroom door and I tracked with push-pins and red string the places and areas that he lived in while there.  It was a great way to follow him on his mission from home.

I had the map framed with the look of old barn-wood and thought that gave it the perfect finish!
Every time I see this map it reminds me of the two years we went without seeing each other.  It reminds me of the service he gave and the the people’s lives he positively effected.  Plus, it’s cute!  🙂
And that, my friends, is the story of THE MAP.  Now I just need to go to Puerto Rico so I can see all these places for myself!

Hey, I'm Kami!

Welcome to the blog

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
