I have been pretty obsessed with making my own graphic tees lately. Graphic tees are so much fun to wear because you can dress them up, wear them casually, accessorize them, etc. I decided to make my own ‘be happy’ graphic tee using vinyl from Daily Craft Vinyl.
I got this gold heat transfer vinyl a few weeks ago and have been excited to use it. I got also got some holiday red glitter vinyl HERE. I am still trying to decide what to make with it!
Using my Cricut Explore, I basically designed the words and fonts and then cut it onto the gold vinyl. If you have an Explore, you know how easy it is to make your own projects. I literally made this shirt in 15 minutes – start to finish!
First, you will need to make sure you have some heat transfer vinyl. Next, design the graphic you want in design space. Then you will cut out your graphic and finally, just iron it onto your shirt. One little tip I have learned when ironing on vinyl to tighter fitting shirts (around the bust), is to make sure that you place your image a little under the bust so that it doesn’t stretch as much. This just helps so that the graphic doesn’t gap where the vinyl is.
The most wonderful thing about you making your own graphic tee is that you get to choose what it says, what colors you use, and which style of tee shirt you wear! I am kind of a snob when it comes to wearing the right-fit tee shirts. I definitely have my favorite ones that I like to refashion. I like THESE from Downeast Basics, THESE from Target, and THESE from Old Navy.

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
