DIY Terra Cotta: serving tray

Here is another fun idea you can make from Terra Cotta.
A serving tray!
This is for Chips ‘n’ Salsa.
All’s you need is:
12″ terra cotta saucer
Scrapbook paper
Distress ink
Small pot for center (you’ll need to plug up the hole in the bottom)

Just cut the circle the right size to fit in the center of the dish and ink the edges. Place paper in the saucer. Place saran wrap in your small pot and put salsa in. Place chips around the pot, in the saucer on top of the paper.
I didn’t glue or seal the paper in the dish because I want to be able to switch the paper out for different occasions and/or food.
For example: you could easily use this as a fruit/dip platter too!
Or a vegetable tray!
You can see what I mean on my Studio 5 segment when I post that HERE later today.
It’s a three-in-one serving platter!

    hi there,

just a question I noticed that you put the salsa directly into the terra cotta pot, is this food safe?

    thanks so much!ReplyCancel

Actually the salsa is not directly in the terra cotta. First I washed the pot, and before I put the salsa in, I lined the pot with saran wrap!!ReplyCancel
